Rab Zera I.
Rab Zera I was a 3rd generation Amora .
He came from Babylonia , was a student of Rab Yehuda bar Jechezqel , against whose will he went to Palestine . There he entered into close relationships with Ammi , Assi and Abbahu .
Jirmeja, Abba b. Zebina and Chaggai.
Rab Zera I. should not be confused with the later Palestinian Zera, who was a student of Jirmeja.
Rab Zera I was not a friend of the Haggadah : The Haggadah can be turned back and forth, and we learn nothing from it (pal. Talmud Maasserot III. 51a).
