The teloschistales are an order of hose mushrooms (Ascomycota) and contain mainly lichen-forming species.
features
The representatives of the order form different types of thalli , such as leaf and crust lichens. The coloration is very variable, with Physciaceae it is mostly based on atranorin , with Teloschistaceae on different anthraquinones .
Species of the green algae genus Trebouxia , more rarely other chlorococcal green algae , appear as photobionts .
Many representatives have polar, diblastic ascospores, which often have thickened walls on the inside.
Systematics
The Teloschistales are a monophyletic group. They fall into two groups, whereby the first, also known as the subordination Teloschistineae, has long been counted among the Teloschistales. They include the following families (with selected genera and species according to Eriksson 2006):
- Single genus Letrouitiaceae
- Letrouitia
- Megalosporaceae with three genera
-
Teloschistaceae with 12 genera, e.g. B.
- Caloplaca
- Fulgensia
- Teloschistes
-
Xanthoria
- Dainty yellow lichen ( Xanthoria elegans )
- Common yellow lichen ( Xanthoria parietina )
- Xanthoria polycarpa
According to studies by Miadlikowska et al. (2006) the following families from the Lecanorales are now also counted among the Teloschistales, as a separate suborder Physciineae:
- Caliciaceae with 9 genera
- Physciaceae with 34 genera, e.g. B.
