The Teloschistaceae are a family of mostly lichen-forming fungi of the class Lecanoromycetes .
features
The yellow to red-orange color of Teloschistaceae is based on various anthraquinones . The edge of the apothecia is formed by thallus tissue , contains algae and is colored like the bed, more rarely it is characterized by a non-black, algae-free edge (natural edge). The asci appear with a clearly developed amyloid outer layer. The spores are usually polar two-celled, rarely one or four-celled and colorless.
