Physcia caesia is a type of leaf lichen that iscommon in Central Europeand predominantly colonizes limestone or artificial substrates (such as walls).
description
The radiant rosette bearings of Physcia caesia measure about 2 to 5 cm in diameter. The thallus is white-gray to gray-blue and whitish speckled, the narrow lobules are 0.5 to 1 mm wide. On the upper side there are often spherical, blue-gray sorals . Apothecia are only rarely formed (1 to 2 mm wide, with a black-brown disc).
distribution
Physcia caesia settles on limestone and walls, especially in heavily fertilized locations (bird seats), occasionally also on wood or tree bark. It is widespread from Central Europe to Northern Europe.
