Anaptychia ciliaris is a species of lichen that has become rare in Germany(sometimes also called eyelash or gray eyelash ).
description
The species forms rosette-shaped pads up to 20 cm wide. The almost shrubby protruding, narrow bearing sections are gray to brown, 1 to 2 mm wide and have gray-blackish eyelashes on the edge. In a well-developed state, numerous, often somewhat stalked fruit bodies ( apothecia ) with brown-black discs are formed, which are often frosted at the beginning.
distribution
Anaptychia ciliaris occurs on mineral-rich, rather basic, cracked bark of preferably old, free-standing deciduous trees, only very rarely on rock. Their European area extends from the mountains of the Mediterranean countries to southern Scandinavia.
In the past, common in Germany, the species has become very rare today as a result of air pollution in the lowlands, where it can only be found in poor form. So she is z. B. in the Red List of North Rhine-Westphalia in the hazard category 1 (threatened with extinction), in Baden-Württemberg in category 2 (endangered). In the higher elevations of the Central European mountains, it is regionally even more common.
