Physconia grisea is a leaf lichen that iscommon in Central Europeand grows on tree bark and occasionally on rock.
description
The camp of Physconia grisea is rounded, gray to gray-brown and, especially at the ends of the lobes, whitish frosted. The lobes are up to 3 mm wide. The more central regions of the thallus are often very sorediosis in older specimens . The bright rhizines (adhesive fibers) are simple or forked.
distribution
Physconia grisea is common in southern and central Europe (but is absent there in the higher, more humid low mountain ranges) and penetrates into southern Sweden. It can be found especially in limestone areas on the trunk of free-standing deciduous trees, more rarely on rock.
