Google Earth Outreach

Google Earth Outreach is a program initiated by Google that supports non-profit organizations by making their information available on Google Earth . In addition, Google Earth Outreach offers online exercises and introductions, not only in the use of Google Earth and Google Maps , but also for teaching or for observing regional conflicts.

In June 2008, twenty representatives of indigenous peoples in the Amazon rainforest area of Brazil , among them the Suruí , received appropriate training and thus the opportunity to observe illegal logging in their reserve by satellite.
