Rabenauer Vorholz

The forewood is an approximately 0.72 km² forest area on the Plaunschen Grund. It is located on the territory of the city of Rabenau . Neighboring villages are Eckersdorf and Rabenau in the north, Hainsberg in the west and Obernaundorf in the east. It is between 270  m above sea level. NHN and 340  m above sea level NHN .

Responsibility lies with the Forestry Office in Bärenfels , owned by the Free State of Saxony.

history

Already in 1691 it is called Fuhrholz, on the Berlin miles sheets in 1785 the Vorholz is called "Vorholtz" and a salt lick is mentioned. In 1866 the Vorholz is mentioned in the Saxon village newspaper as belonging to the Rabenau district. Since the 20th century it has been popularly known as "Schulbusch"

Attractions

Above Hainsberg stands the war memorial erected for the then community in March 1934 for the victims of World War I with a 17 meter high iron cross.

Waters

An unnamed river runs through the Vorholz to the east and flows into the Vorholzbach in Eckersdorf; the Vorholzbach rises below the Upper Poisenhäuser and flows through Obernaundorf along the edge of the forest through the other villages of Eckersdorf and Hainsberg, where it flows into the Weißeritz .

ways

The Kohlgrabenweg goes into the forest near Hainsberg and ends near the aisle 34. The aisle 32 begins in Eckersdorf and joins the aisle 33, which goes through the forest from north to east.
