Rachel Mary Ward (born August 21, 1964 in Woking ) is a British author of books for young people .

life and work

Rachel Ward grew up in Surrey, south of London , and studied geography in Durham . It was only when she was 40 that she devoted herself to writing. With her first novel "Numbers - Den Tod im Blick" she received numerous international awards and in 2011 she was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize. Rachel Ward lives in Bath , England with her husband and children . For Andrea Wanner from Titel Magazin, Rachel Ward succeeds in her debut work Numbers - Den Tod im Blick , “combining psychic abilities and the problems of teenagers from a difficult milieu into a gripping thriller that ultimately dares to answer a great philosophical question: Is our life predetermined? ”.

In 2012 she was a member of the jury for the award The Extraordinary Book of the children and youth program of the Berlin International Literature Festival .
