Rada Ochrony Pamięci Walk i Męczeństwa (German: Council for the Preservation of Remembrance of Struggle and Martyrdom , "Memorial Council" ) was a state institution in Poland responsible for maintaining national memorials and military cemeteries, organizing memorial events, publications and exhibitions to commemorate the struggle for freedom and the victim was responsible.

The council, founded in 1947, was subordinate to the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage . During the People's Republic of Poland , he mainly dealt with the crimes of the German occupiers during the Second World War. After the political change in 1989, under Secretary General Andrzej Przewoźnik, Stalinist crimes became another focus of his perpetrators.

In 2016 the council was dissolved by the government under Beata Szydło , its documentation was taken over by the Institute for National Remembrance (IPN).
