history

After the Federal Council had approved the license to operate a private radio station in the canton of Aargau on December 11, 1989, Radio Argovia was founded shortly afterwards on February 28, 1990 by various publishers. The first programs were officially broadcast on May 1st of the same year. On July 1, 2018, Radio Argovia returned the license in order to have "more freedom in terms of content" and to be able to use "potential in cooperation with other broadcasters".
