Radio Lotte Weimar (own spelling: Radio LOTTE Weimar) is a community radio from Weimar that has been broadcasting since 1999. The carrier and license holder is Radio Lotte in Weimar e. V. , an allusion to the novel Lotte in Weimar by Thomas Mann . The name of the radio station, on the other hand, refers to the largely canalised Lotte that flows under the city.

The radio station can be received terrestrially in Weimar and the surrounding area on the frequency 106.6 MHz and in the cable under 107.9 MHz. Radio Lotte can also be received via the Internet via a live stream.

According to the Thuringian media statutes, Radio Lotte is not allowed to have any advertising in its program. The station is financed, among other things, by the so-called Lotte Club, to which more than 500 members belong, and by subsidies from the Thuringian State Media Authority.

On special occasions, Radio Lotte broadcasts from public places with a cycle rickshaw that has been converted into a mobile studio . Radio Lotte is the 2003 Weimar Prize Winner .

The broadcaster gained a certain degree of awareness outside of Weimar in connection with the allocation of press seats in the NSU process . Radio Lotte accompanied the process until it ended in July 2018.

In the first ten years of its existence, the station was continuously managed by the architect and artist Mathias Buß, who handed over his position as program director to communications consultant Christian Stadali in August 2009 as part of the celebrations for the station's tenth birthday. Stadali ran the station as planned only until the turn of the year 2010/11 and was then replaced by the actress and cultural manager Sonja Hartmann. At the beginning of September 2012 there was finally another change in leadership. The new program director was the journalist Grit Hasselmann, who had been with Radio Lotte Weimar since the station was founded. Hasselmann left the station in 2017. After various restructuring, journalist Markus Pettelkau has been the station's program manager and managing director since March 2018, while Andreas Menzel is the club's chairman.
