Radio Munich is ad-free and wants to stay that way. Radio Munich broadcasts cross-genre music by Munich artists and authors. About 30 freelance employees work at the station, almost all of whom are volunteers.

The station is a non-profit entrepreneurial company (limited liability), which was founded on February 28, 2012 and entered in the commercial register at the Munich District Court on March 27, 2013 . Shareholders are Peter Schmidt 2/4 - Bodo Nibbe 1/4 - Eva Schmidt 1/4. Eva Schmidt is the managing director.

The company is headquartered at Elilandstrasse 16 in 81547 Munich, the broadcast studio is located in the Artist Studio in the Künstlerhaus on Lenbachplatz near the Stachus .

The broadcast time 3–4 p.m. on the FM frequency 92.4 MHz was assigned to Radio Munich in March 2017, previously it could only be received via internet stream and digital radio. Applications from six broadcasters had been received for the 92.4 MHz frequency, so a difficult compromise had to be worked out.
