Radio Summernight is a non-commercial local radio / youth radio based in Aarau . The studio is located at Flösserplatz Aarau. Previously, it was part of Aarau's youth work until the beginning of 2020. The station was founded in 2016 and has around 20 members.

history

Before the start of broadcasting in 2016, it was broadcast as Radio SwissCharts in a test phase from 2015 to mid-2016, Gianluca Biechler was one of the first moderators. At the beginning of 2018, the radio station was allowed to move into its own studio in the city of Aarau. This infrastructure paid off. The radio station recorded increasing numbers not only in terms of membership, but also in terms of listeners.

Radio Summernight can be heard via DAB + in the regions of Aarau, Solothurn and Biel in the summer months. In addition, the Swiss broadcaster can be heard widely via cable, website or app; the app is equipped with an Autoplay function, the CarPlay function (starts “automatically” in the car) and other functions. The broadcaster also relies on smart speakers , which are used by around 10% of listeners.

Target audience and program

Radio Summernight mainly plays music that should appeal to listeners between the ages of 13 and 30. Unlike commercial radio stations, the station also plays alternative , dance , rock and hip-hop . There are also discussions, interviews and information, especially from the region.

organization

The station is organized as an association. The executive board consists of two people each, the executive board consists of the members of the management. The program is designed and moderated by young people between 13 and 30 years of age. The ombudsman rtv - the radio and television broadcasters in German and Romansh Switzerland - serves as the ombudsman. There are currently two members of the executive board: Gian-Luca Biechler (managing director) and Christian Duss (program and editing). The management is supported by Wojciech Brzozowski as music editor and Nia Chahdi as moderation manager.

RSN Media

RSN Media is the operator of Radio Summernight and these web radios Radio Kuschelrock, Radio 80s 90s, Rap Radio, 1000 Dance, 1000 Hiphop, 1000 German, 1000 Trap, 1000 Discofox, 1000 Christmas and a workout radio.
