Radiotjänst , actually Radiotjänst i Kiruna AB ( RIKAB ), is the institution in Sweden that is comparable to the German fee collection center .
It was formed in 1988 after the Reichstag decided to outsource the collection of license fees from the Televerket 's area of responsibility. The head office is located in Kiruna in the north of Sweden and is one of the largest employers there. Owners are the Swedish state television SVT , Radio SR and Utbildningsradion (UR), the education channel .
In 2016 the tax was 2,216 kroner per year. In 2014, SVT, SR and UR shared a budget of 7.6 billion crowns.
Since January 1, 2019, the license fee has been collected by the tax authority Skatteverket .
