Wheel loader scale

A wheel loader scale is a scale integrated in a wheel loader that determines the mass of the material in the bucket of the construction machine. In most cases, this is done by measuring the hydraulic pressure in the lifting frame of the wheel loader.

The scales are adjusted by means of reference or calibration weights , that is, the corresponding weight value is assigned to different hydraulic pressures. Modern systems weigh dynamically in the loading movement without interrupting it. The individual "shovel weights" are added up and can, for example, be shown for each loaded truck and - depending on the equipment of the weighing electronics - printed as a receipt together with order, customer, material and other data and transferred as a data record to higher-level software for further processing.

These mobile weighing systems offer time and cost advantages compared to stationary scales such as truck weighbridges . In addition to lower investment and maintenance costs, there are no additional personnel costs for the operator of the scale. There are no trips to and from the stationary scales and at the same time the scales show the amount loaded during the loading process, which means that capacities are optimally used and overloads are avoided.

As a calibrated scale, the wheel loader scale is approved for business dealings. Today's wheel loader scales, which can be calibrated, are approved for accuracy class Y (b).
