The Radschlepper Ost , also known as the Škoda RSO or Porsche 175 , was a heavy German artillery tractor with all-wheel drive that was used by the Wehrmacht during World War II .
It was designed by Ferdinand Porsche in 1941 and produced by Waffenunion Škoda-Brünn GmbH , a subsidiary of Reichswerke Hermann Göring , in Jungbunzlau in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . The Radschlepper Ost was designed for rough terrain and should guarantee supplies on muddy ( Rasputiza , pathlessness) transport routes in spring and autumn or in snow in winter. Between 1942 and 1944 around 206 vehicles were produced. No wheeled tractor east survived the war - all RSOs were either destroyed or scrapped. The vehicle was powered by an air-cooled Porsche in -line four- cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 6023 cm³. A two-cylinder gasoline engine (half of the KdF car engine) was used as the starter.
