Wheel chocks
Wheel chocks or often English wheel chocks of a Concorde

A wheel chock is a device used on the railroad to park rail vehicles, e.g. B. freight wagons provided for loading or unloading can be secured against unintentional escaping. In general use today are wheel chocks with a shoe- like appearance, which can be screwed and locked to one of the two rails next to a wheel of the vehicle . Instead of a wheel chock, two brake shoes, which are placed on both sides of the wheel, or parking brakes can be used to secure vehicles.

Also in air traffic, the wedges that airplanes have when they are parked on the airfield are called wheel rugs.
