history

The TRT formatted its now four radio channels more strongly with regard to the content and took the step to special-interest programs. In addition to Radyo-1 (word, culture and education), Radyo-2 (news) and Radyo-3 (classical music), Radyo-4 performed Turkish music on October 18, 1987. After the introduction of private broadcasting, Radyo-4 became TRT-fm in 1990 . Because of the competition with private radio, pop music was also broadcast on TRT-fm . In 1998 the TRT decided again to restructure the content of the radio networks. The term TRT-fm was used for Radyo-2 from now on. Radyo-4 got its original name back.
