Sohar Strauss ( Hebrew זהר שטראוס, English Zohar Strauss ; Born March 4, 1972 in Haifa , Israel ) is an Israeli actor .

Life

Strauss did his military service in the medical corps. He then studied law at the University of Leicester and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB). He then moved to the Joram Lewinstein Drama School in Tel Aviv , where he finished his training in 2001.

He made his screen debut in 2001 in the film Mars Turki (Hebrew for backgammon ; English title: "Clean Sweep"). His stage debut took place on March 21, 2003 at the Herzlia Theater. He played Romeo in Se'ew Klatis parody Kescher ha-Jare'ach ("The Moon Connection").

He played various roles in films, including Beaufort , Jellyfish - Carried by the Sea , Lebanon and You Shall Not Love . In 2010 he made a guest appearance in Rokdim im Kochawim , the Israeli version of Strictly Come Dancing . From 2008 to 2012 he played the awri in the television drama Srugim ("knitted"). His most famous role on stage was McMurphy in the 2010 production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest at the Be'er Scheva Theater .

In 2009 Strauss received the Ophir Prize in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in Lebanon . He was nominated in the same category ( Things Behind the Sun ) and ( Magic Men ) in 2006 and 2013 .
