TRT-fm

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TRT-fm is the second program of the Turkish state broadcaster TRT .

history

In 1975 - at the same time as the radio station TRT-3 - the state broadcaster's second radio network went on air as TRT-2. Both channels competed with the already existing TRT-1. Private broadcasting did not yet exist in Turkey at that time. The station has changed its program format and name many times since then. In 1987 Radyo-4 started its program as the fourth radio network of the TRT. With the establishment of Radyo-4, the three radio networks that had existed since the 1970s (TRT-1, TRT-2 and TRT-3) were renamed Radyo-1 , Radyo-2 and Radyo-3 in order to give them more of a name the TV channels ( TRT-1 and TRT-2) to distinguish. With the expansion to four channels, the TRT is now focusing on greater delimitation of the content of the radio networks from one another. In addition to Radyo-1 (education and culture), Radyo-3 (classical music) and Radyo-4 (Turkish music), Radyo-2 was converted from a full program to a news channel. On December 30, 1997, Radyo-2 received its current format under the name TRT-fm.

format

TRT-fm broadcasts entertainment programs aimed at an adult audience. The music selection consists of European (60s, 70s and 80s) and Turkish hits, but also to a very large extent from popular Turkish music. In addition, contributions and, very often, live telephone connections are embedded in the music program. TRT-fm has different headings; v. a. from the service area. TRT-fm also broadcasts advertising once or twice an hour (in contrast to the electronic music channel Radyo-3, for example ). Traffic, sports and stock market information is also regular. There are special interest programs that are dedicated to certain types of music (e.g. film music, chansons, etc.). The hourly news comes from the TRT headquarters in Ankara . Other programs are produced in Ankara, but also in the studios in Izmir and Istanbul and broadcast live from there. TRT-fm has the highest number of listeners among the TRT radio networks and is also the most listened to radio station in Turkey.
