Rafael Cardona Salazar

Rafael "Rafa" Cardona Salazar (* 1946 ; † December 7, 1987 in Medellín ) was the highest-ranking member of the Medellín cartel, which operated in the United States .

The only 165 cm tall Colombian controlled and delivered cocaine from the country of origin to bulk buyers. He was one of the most significant figures in the Miami drug wars of the late 1970s and early 1980s.

In 1987 he was shot dead in Medellín.
