Rafael Martínez
Rafael Martínez Arteaga ( El Cazador Novato ; born January 26, 1940 in Cravo Norte ) is a Colombian singer , composer and poet .
Martínez represented the province of Arauca in 1956 at the age of sixteen at the Primer Encuentro Nacional de Folcklor in Manizales, where he won first prize as a composer and performer. His breakthrough as a musician came with the composition Llanura, yo soy tu hijo , with which he took part in the Primer Torneo Internacional del Joropo in Arauca in 1966 and again won first prize. He then appeared at four other international festivals in a row and recorded his first LP in 1969 with Tirso Delgado . He later directed the Dimus record label in Maracay.
