Raffaele Paparella (born December 26, 1915 in Milan , † November 11, 2001 ) was an Italian cartoonist .

life and work

Paparella debuted in the second half of the 1930s. In the 1940s he worked for the comic magazine Il Vittorioso , for which he drew the comics Il Terrore del Colorado and Il Segredo di Yuma written by Giovanni Luigi Bonelli . In 1948 he started working for Topolino . Together with the comic author Guido Martina , he created the western comic Pecos Bill the following year , which was followed by another western comic in 1952, Oklahoma . In the following years Paparella drew for the publishing house Bonelli, later also for the British and French markets. After his professional retirement in the mid-1980s, he devoted himself to creating caricatures .
