Guido Martina
Guido Martina (born February 9, 1906 in Carmagnola , Province of Turin , † May 6, 1991 in Rome ) was an Italian comic book author .
life and work
After studying literature and philosophy, Martina began teaching. He then moved to Paris for five years , where he wrote scripts for documentaries, which he directed himself. After Martina returned to Italy, he began translating English-language texts into Italian in 1938 for the magazine Topolino . Martina then took care of the satirical magazine Fra 'Diavolo and had his own radio show. After the Second World War he turned back to Topolino and, after only being a translator again, wrote his own scenarios. In 1949 Martina created the comic series Pecos Bill , which was drawn by Raffaele Paparella and Dino Battaglia , among others . The Oklahoma series , which started three years later, was less successful than Pecos Bill . During his life, Martina created over 1000 comic book scenarios.
Martina has published numerous Disney comics in German.
