Ragma
Ragma is a son of Kush in the Old Testament .
etymology
The name is derived from the Hebrew רַעְמָה ra'mā . There are two spellings in the Septuagint , namely Ρεγμα regma ( Gen 10.7 EU , 1 Chr 1.9 EU ) and Ραγμα ragma ( Ez 27.22 EU ).
Ragma as a tribal name
Ragma is referred to in Gen 10.7 EU as the son of Cush and the grandson of Ham of the son of Noah . His siblings are Seba , Hawila , Sabta , Sabtecha and Nimrod . Ragma is the father of Saba and Dedan . All of them are not historical persons, but tribes that have been linked in a genealogy. So in Ez 27,22 EU Ragma (originally ragmatum ) and Saba are also named together as places of origin of merchants. Ragma can be found in southern Saudi Arabia on the northern border of Yemen.
