Ragnvald Olafsson
Ragnvald Olafsson (Norwegian Ragnvald Heidumhære ) was a (legendary) king of Vestfold in the late 9th century in what is now Norway . He was sung about in the Ynglingatal .
Ragnvald is said to have commissioned the skald Þjóðólfr ór Hvini to describe the origins of his family of Nordic deities and the legendary family of the Ynglings .
The Ynglingatal is one of the oldest and most famous poems in Old Norse literature.

Ragnvald is said to have been a son of Olaf Geirstad-Alf or Ragnar Lodbrok .
The Heimskringlasaga wrote in the 13th century that he was a cousin of Harald Fairhair . A daughter Åsa Ragnvaldsdatter (Aseda Rognvaldsdatter) was mentioned in a later text. She married Eystein Ivarsson. This was considered an ancestor of Wilhelm the Conqueror .
