Rahid Ulusel

Rahid Ulusel (full name: Rahid Suleyman ogly Chalilov ; born August 13, 1954 ) is an Azerbaijani philosopher, cultural scientist, literary historian and essayist .

Life and activity

Rahid Ulusel was born in the village of Kälbähüseynli in the Masalli region of the Azerbaijani SSR . In 1975 he graduated from the Philological Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University.

From 1975 to 2001 he worked as a teacher, as deputy head of the executive power and as editor-in-chief. In 1986 he defended his dissertation at the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, and in 2007 he received his doctorate from Baku State University. In 1990 he was awarded a medal by the Ministry of Education of the former Soviet Union for developing the concept of the "humanities metasystem". Since 2002 he has been the senior scientist of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences and the Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan. From 2005 to 2007 he gave lectures on philosophy and cultural studies at the Western University. In 2005 he founded the Association “Global Studies and Civil Isology”. This organization, of which he is President, was accepted as a member by the International Federation of Philosophical Societies in 2011 as the first organization in Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus.

From 1989 Rahid Ulusel was a member of the Writers' Union of the Former Soviet Union, and in 2009 he received a grant from the Azerbaijani President. He is currently a member of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union. Since 2009 he has been a member of the PhD Council for Philosophy , Sociology and Law at the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, since 2010 he has been a member of the Organizing Committee of the Biocosmology Association (Russia), Vice-President of the Asian Biocosmology Association, member of the editorial team of the journal "Biocosmology - Neo-Aristotelianism". He represented Azerbaijan in the XXII. World Congress of Philosophy (Korea, Seoul, 2008), the VIII World Congress ( Stockholm , Sweden , 2010), the II International Conference on Academic Disciplines (USA, Harvard University , 2011) and a number of other international events.

With financial support from the Council for the State Support of the NGO to the President of Azerbaijan, he implemented the project “Integration of Azerbaijan into the World Community: The Silk Road of Cultures ” (2009) and had corresponding books published. He is the author of 17 books and monographs. A lot of essays and more than 200 articles on the problems of philosophy, aesthetics, culture and philology have been published in periodicals and scientific journals.
