Rahotep (prince)

Rahotep was an ancient Egyptian king's son who probably lived in the 5th Dynasty , in the second half of the 3rd millennium BC. BC, lived. Rahotep is known from his mastaba in Giza . The inscriptions in the mastaba give his titles. He was Prince (jrj-pat), King's son , lector priest (HRJ-H3B), elder of the chamber (smsw-jz) and head of the wide door (jmj-r3 wsxt). His wife was a woman named Chenu.

His mastaba is a mighty 30 × 14.10 m building. The lower part of the building is carved into the rock, the upper part is walled up. On the east side there is a small chapel with a courtyard and two pillars. From there you got to the actual mastaba. The entrance to the mastaba has a decorated lintel on which the name and title of Rahotep can be found. The cult chapel with an unlabeled false door is located in the actual building of the mast . From here you can also get to the underground burial chamber, which was found robbed.
