history

The history of the bank began on July 1, 1888. On that day, 52 members founded the Zusmarshausen Loan Association . With the help of the profits generated from private and commercial financing, assets were subsequently procured for the cooperative use of its members. The fixed assets included predominantly agricultural machinery and equipment such as grain cleaning machines, field rollers, clovers and fruit presses. A warehouse was later built for the members.

In addition to the usual private and commercial financing, the institute also granted loans for rather unusual projects in the early years. For example, in 1892 the Zusmarshauser Musikverein was able to purchase a bass tuba and in 1913 the construction of the district road from Zusmarshausen to Dinkelscherben was financed.

In the interwar period, the bank introduced postal checks and joined the Bavarian Central Bank in Munich. After the Second World War, all members of the executive and supervisory board who were members of the NSDAP were removed from office and their accounts blocked.

In the 1960s, many Raiffeisen banks in the region decided to merge into larger units. In 1963 the Raiffeisenbank Wollbach and in 1964 the Raiffeisenbank Steinekirch joined the Raiffeisenbank Zusmarshausen. As a result of its increased importance, the Trometer property in Augsburger Strasse was acquired and, after a renovation phase, the new office was put into operation on December 16, 1966.

In 1973 the merger with Raiffeisenbank Gabelbach followed. In the further course of the decade it was decided to build a new bank building in Zusmarshausen. The new bank building was inaugurated on July 6, 1979.

By merging with the Raiffeisen banks Altenmünster and Wörleschwang in 1993, the Raiffeisenbank Zusmarshausen-Altenmünster eG was created . In 2001 the merger with Raiffeisenbank Welden to form Raiffeisenbank Zusmarshausen-Altenmünster-Welden eG was completed.

In the course of the merger with Raiffeisenbank Gessertshausen-Ustersbach-Welden eG , Raiffeisenbank Augsburger Land West eG was finally founded in 2005 , which was most recently joined by Raiffeisenbank Horgau in 2007.

As a cooperative credit institution, the bank is affiliated with the Bavarian Cooperative Association (GVB); Associated with this is the affiliation to the cooperative financial group Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken.
