As a forerunner, an "agricultural consumer association" was founded in 1893, from which the Consumverein Freinsheim und Umgebung eGmbH emerged in 1896 , from which the Raiffeisenkasse Freinsheim became in the 1950s . The bank has had its current name since the 1960s.
The institute expanded in 2014 to include Raiffeisenbank Friedelsheim-Rödersheim eG.
