history

The first cooperatives were founded in the 19th century by Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen and Hermann Schulze-Delitzsch . Individual Raiffeisenkassen in Grabfeld were set up around the same time in Alsleben, Sulzdorf an der Lederhecke and Untereßfeld.

The most important merger was in 1991, when the Raiffeisenbank Obereßfeld-Alsleben-Sulzdorf merged with the east German BHG Rentwertshausen and then operated under the name Raiffeisenbank Obereßfeld-Römhild. In 2013 the bank was renamed to Raiffeisenbank im Grabfeld. In 2017 the Raiffeisenbank in Grabfeld eG will celebrate its 125th anniversary.

Raiffeisenbank im Grabfeld is active in the real estate business and maintains the subsidiary RB-Verwaltungs GmbH.
