Petrol engines
The vehicle is powered by turbo-charged gasoline engines or diesel engines. In the case of gasoline engines, the engine range for inline four-cylinder models in 2019 includes maximum outputs between 110 kW and 180 kW with a displacement of 2 l. They have front-wheel drive as standard . A V6 engine in the S5 that is not available in Europe has a maximum output of 260 kW. The top model RS5 has a maximum output of 331 kW. Both the S5 and RS5 have all-wheel drive
A two-liter gasoline engine with a maximum output of 125 kW (170 hp), which will be marketed as a 2.0 g-tron until the beginning of 2019 and since then as a 40 g-tron, can run on both natural gas and petrol .
Diesel engines
The smallest diesel engine in 2019 has a displacement of 2.0 l and a maximum output of 120 kW. V6 engines are available from the 45 TDI with 170 kW. The most powerful diesel-powered model is the S5 TDI with 255 kW, which is only available for the Coupé and the hatchback model. All-wheel drive is standard on all six-cylinder models with a diesel engine.
safety
In the 2015 crash tests, Euro NCAP awarded the related Audi A4 B9 an overall rating of five stars and transferred this rating to the Audi A5 F5. In North America, the NHTSA made a similar decision for the 2018 model year , which also applied the five-star overall rating of the Audi A4 in the US NCAP crash test for the Sportback hatchback . The IIHS rated the Coupé in the 2018 model year in the “Moderate overlap front” test as “Good”; For the hatchback model, the same applies to the model selection as for the previous institutes and the rating is “good” as for the coupé.
