action

The thief Mr. Snookie, who recently stole an umbrella from a policeman's front yard, sees a young lady standing on the roadside who doesn't know how to get across the street because a rain shower has turned the gutter into a broad stream. He approaches her lustfully and offers her his help. He wants to fetch a plank from a nearby construction site and holds the umbrella in her hand for so long. Then the tramp comes by and has the same idea - probably looking at the umbrella. When the two cavaliers returned with thick beams, the lady is gone - a policeman has already carried her over the gutter. Snookie rushes after her and vehemently wants 'his' umbrella back, which the lady refuses. There are arguments between the lady, snookie and the tramp defending the lady. Finally the lady has the umbrella back, but Snookie now brings a police officer over. In the meantime, the tramp has chattered the lady's umbrella and is enjoying his new utensil. Snookie snatches the screen from the tramp and shows it to the policeman, who recognizes his own screen and arrests Snookie.
