Stefano Massini
Stefano Massini (born September 22, 1975 in Florence ) is an Italian author and theater director.
Life
Stefano Massini studied classical philology at the University of Florence . In 2001 he sat in with the director Luca Ronconi at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano and began to write his own texts. In 2005 he received the Pier Vittorio Tondelli Prize for his piece L'odore assordante del bianco .
In 2007, his “Memorandum” about the murdered Russian journalist Anna Politkowskaja Donna non rieducabile came out and received international acclaim, the film Il sangue e la neve was shown at the 66th Venice Film Festival . Massini adapted Mary Shelley's Frankenstein for the theater and wrote the play Balkan Burger about conflicts in the former Yugoslavia . Massini wrote a variation of the Candide with La Commedia di Candido . The monologue Credoinunsolodio on the Palestine conflict was premiered by three actresses at Piccolo in 2015. The LEHMAN BROTHERS trilogy . The Rise and Fall of a Dynasty was first performed in French in 2013 at the Center Dramatique National de St.-Étienne and in 2015 by Massini in Milan in the original Italian. For this Massini received the Italian theater prize Premio Ubu in 2015 . The play also came on German-speaking stages.
Massini has been artistic advisor at the Piccolo Teatro since May 2015.
