The Audi Q3 (internal type designation 8U ) is a compact SUV sold by Audi AG from 2011 to 2018 .
Model history
A concept vehicle that gave an outlook on the Q3 was first presented at Auto Shanghai 2007 in Shanghai , China under the name Cross Coupé Quattro . The formal premiere of the production model also took place in Shanghai at Auto Shanghai 2011.
The model was launched on the German market on October 21, 2011.
In November 2014, the vehicle was presented to journalists with a facelift at an information event in Munich ; series vehicles were available in stores from February 2015.
Although no successor model has yet been officially presented, Audi discontinued production of the series at the beginning of June 2018. Since then, only vehicles that have already been produced have been sold. A total of 1.1 million vehicles of this Q3 were produced. At the end of July 2018, Audi presented the successor model with the Q3 F3 .
technology
It was at Seat in Martorell produced, Spain and is based, as it did the VW Tiguan I , on the PQ35 - platform of A3 8P and the VW Golf V and VI .
The Audi Q3 was launched with two gasoline and two diesel engines :
- The 2.0 l diesel engine with common rail injection and turbocharging ( TDI ) is optionally available with a maximum output of 103 kW (140 PS) and 130 kW (177 PS).
- The 2.0-l petrol engine with direct petrol injection and turbocharging ( TFSI ) is available with a maximum output of 125 kW (170 hp) and 155 kW (211 hp).
These motors generate between 280 and 380 Nm maximum torque ; all variants have a start-stop system with a recuperation brake that recovers electrical energy when braking.
The more powerful petrol engine variants of the Q3 have the seven-speed double clutch transmission S tronic (DQ500), which is designed for torques of up to 600 Newton meters, as standard. This permanently drives all four wheels via a multi-disc clutch . The two less powerful types have a six-speed manual transmission; the entry-level 103 kW TDI was only offered with front-wheel drive. In addition to the standard start-off assistant , other driver assistance systems are available as special equipment, for example lane keeping and lane change assistants (Audi active lane assist, Audi side assist) and various parking aids .
