Location of the municipality

Martorell is a Spanish city ​​in the comarca of Baix Llobregat in the autonomous region of Catalonia . It lies at the confluence of the Llobregat and Anoia rivers . In Roman times, Martorell was an important waypoint along the Via Augusta , which crossed the Llobregat here. A triumphal arch is still preserved from this first bridge. In the same place today there is a Gothic bridge of Roman origin, the so-called " Devil's Bridge ". The largest employer in Martorell is the vehicle manufacturer Seat , which operates its second main plant here next to Barcelona.

Culture and tradition

The Festa Major in honor of the patron saint is celebrated on Assumption in the week of August 15th.
