Olesa de Montserrat is a Catalan city in the comarca of Baix Llobregat (province of Barcelona). On January 1, 2019, 23,904 people lived here on an area of 16.75 km² .
Olesa is known for the local textile industry and the production of olive oil , but especially for the annual Passion Festival of the Olesa de Montserrat, which was first mentioned in 1540 . During Holy Week, the last days of the life of Jesus Christ are represented here. This Passion Festival earned Olesa an entry in the Guinness Book of Records in 1996 , when 726 people were on stage at the same time.
