The Audi Q2 (internal type designation GA) is a compact SUV from Audi AG , which has been available on the European market since autumn 2016.
Model history
The vehicle was presented on March 1st, 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show . It is manufactured at the Audi plant in Ingolstadt and is based on the MQB platform . The Audi Q2 launched on the European market in autumn 2016.
In October 2018, the public premiere of the Audi SQ2 took place at the Mondial Paris Motor Show . The SQ2 has been available since December 2018.
The Q2 has also been available in a long version (33 mm extended body) in China since October 2018. The Q2L is produced at FAW-Volkswagen in Foshan . The Q2L e-tron, a battery-electric version of the SUV , will make its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2019 . It is powered by a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor.
Furnishing
The Audi Q2 has an MMI monitor as standard , which is positioned on top of the dashboard. It can be operated using a rotary control / push button and two buttons on the center tunnel. Depending on the equipment, the rotary / push button also has a touchpad function. A WLAN hotspot allows surfing and streaming with mobile devices in the vehicle. With the highest expansion level of the navigation system ( MMI navigation plus with MMI touch ), the online services of Audi Connect can also be used. The data connection required for this is included using the SIM card (embedded SIM) permanently installed in the car . CarPlay and Android Auto can be embedded in the vehicle via a USB port using the Audi smartphone interface .
The progressive steering is in all versions of the Audi Q2 standard. With her, the translation varies depending on the steering angle; this makes it more direct with large steering movements. The audi drive select system and adaptive shock absorbers can also be ordered on request .

The Audi Q2 offers three equipment lines:

At the start of the model, a special model called Edition # 1 was offered. It includes an exclusive paint finish in quantum gray and extensive standard equipment.
SQ2
From the end of 2018 there will be another sport version of the “S models” with the Audi SQ2 . The model had its public premiere at the Mondial Paris Motor Show in October 2018. The model has a turbocharged two-liter in-line four-cylinder with a maximum output of 221 kW (300 hp). The all-wheel drive system called “quattro” will be included in the standard scope of delivery like a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
Q2L e-tron
The Audi Q2L e-tron was presented on April 16 at Auto Shanghai 2019. It was specially designed for the Chinese market and produced there by FAW-Volkswagen in the Foshan plant. The Q2 is powered by an electric motor with an output of 100 kW (136 hp) at 290 Nm, which is located on the front axle. The range of the 38 kilowatt hour battery is specified as up to 265 kilometers according to the NEDC standard.

Registration numbers
In the first year of sales in 2016, 2,205 Q2s - 1,152 of which were diesel-powered and 360 were all-wheel drive - were newly registered. In the second year of sales there were 23,147 models - 6,473 of them with diesel drive and 3,339 with all-wheel drive. In 2018, of the total of 20,865 newly registered Q2s, 5,487 were diesel engines and 3,699 were all-wheel drive models. In 2019 there were 20,203 vehicles - 4,664 of them with diesel drive and 4,183 with all-wheel drive.
