The Audi Q3 (internal type designation F3 ) is the second generation of the compact SUV Q3 from the German automobile manufacturer Audi . It has been under construction since 2018. In July 2019, the Audi Q3 Sportback, a variant with its own look, was presented.

Model history and production

The vehicle was presented on July 25, 2018 and has been in series production at Audi Hungaria since August 28, 2018 as the successor to the Q3 8U in Győr . The formal exhibition premiere took place at the Paris Motor Show of the same year.

On July 24, 2019, the Audi Q3 Sportback, a body variant with a flat tapering roof, was presented. It came on the market in autumn 2019.

At the end of September 2019, Audi presented the RS Q3 and the RS Q3 Sportback . The top models of the series went on sale at the end of 2019.

Furnishing

Three equipment lines are available for the vehicle: Q3, Q3 advance and Q3 S line.

infotainment

The Audi virtual cockpit, known as the digital instrument cluster, has a 10-inch display as standard; On request, the display can be delivered in 12.3 inch size with 3D representation. Another display for the infotainment system is located in the middle of the instrument panel .

inner space

The rear seat can be moved lengthways by 150 millimeters and its backrest can be tilted in seven stages. On the Q3 Sportback, it can be moved approx. 130 millimeters. The minimum luggage compartment volume of both body variants is 530 liters; in terms of maximum luggage compartment volume, the variant with a conventional roof with 1525 liters compared to the one with a flatter rear window with 1400 liters is 125 liters larger.

The vehicle is based on the Volkswagen Group's modular transverse matrix .

landing gear

MacPherson struts with wishbones are used on the front axle, while the rear axle is a four-link axle . Adjustable dampers are available on request. The steering, with a ratio of 14.8: 1, is an electromechanical steering with speed-dependent servo assistance. A so-called “progressive steering” with a variable ratio of 14.8: 1 around the central position to 11.4: 1 with a full steering angle is also available on request.

safety

Standard equipment includes headlights with LED - daytime running lights , and -Abblendlicht -Fernlicht and an LED license plate light; the front indicators and taillights are incandescent bulbs. Full LED, Matrix LED headlights and LED taillights cost extra. When in 2018 carried out Euro NCAP - Crash Test was rated the vehicle with five stars.

Engines

Since its market launch, the vehicle has been available with two supercharged R4 petrol engines with direct gasoline injection in three output levels with 110 kW (35 TFSI, 1.5 liter displacement), 140 kW (40 TFSI, 2.0 liter displacement) or 169 kW (45 TFSI, 2.0 liter displacement). The diesel engines have a 2.0-l engine with turbocharging and common rail injection in two stages with a maximum output of 110 kW and 140 kW with the designations 35 TDI and 40 TDI. The RS Q3 with a 294 kW 2.5-liter five-cylinder petrol engine has also been on sale since October 2019.

Powertrain

The 35 TFSI and 35 TDI are available with front-wheel drive . The remaining variants have all-wheel drive as standard , which is also available as an option on the 35 TDI in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission . A 7-speed dual clutch transmission is standard on the 40 TFSI, 45 TFSI and 35 TDI (with front-wheel drive), and on the 35 TFSI at an additional cost.
