This model is one of the first Audi vehicles to be equipped with the “recuperation system”, which includes braking energy recovery and an automatic start-stop system . To support the terrain characteristics, the ESP ( Electronic Stability Control ) is equipped with "offroad detection", which activates itself when it is switched off. In this operating mode, the ESP control is influenced in such a way that it intervenes later and thus enables better progress, especially on loose ground such as gravel or snow.
In the Audi A4 allroad quattro, in addition to the 6-speed manual transmission, the 7-speed S tronic direct shift transmission for the most powerful petrol and diesel engines is offered. This permanently drives all four wheels with the all-wheel drive ( Torsen differential ) mentioned by Audi Quattro with a basic distribution of 40:60 (front / rear axle).
