technology
48-volt electrical system
The Audi SQ7 has a 48-volt sub-electrical system and, together with the Bentley Bentayga , which is based on the same platform , is one of the first vehicles to use this new, higher voltage level. The electrical energy is generated on the 12 V level by a new MOSFET generator that can provide up to 3 kW of power. A DC / DC converter is used to transform the voltage from 12 V to 48 V. The energy is stored on the 48 V level in a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 470 Wh. The 48-volt on-board network is the prerequisite for the electrically driven compressor (EAV) with up to 7 kW output and the electromechanical roll stabilization (EAWS).
Electrically driven compressor (EAV)
The electrically driven compressor is arranged in series with the two conventional turbochargers and supports them in acceleration phases. The compressor can be accelerated to 70,000 revolutions per minute in less than 250 ms, thus ensuring that the boost pressure builds up quickly. The compressor from the French supplier Valeo is located behind the charge air cooler near the engine.
Electromechanical roll stabilization (EAWS)
The electromechanical roll stabilization from the supplier Schaeffler also uses the 48-volt power supply. An electric motor with a three-stage planetary gear separates the two halves of the stabilizer . The EAWS provides a stepless torque of up to 1200 Nm and requires up to 3 kW of power for this. On the one hand, when the road surface is uneven, the suspension comfort can be increased by decoupling the stabilizer tubes; on the other hand, roll and roll compensation can be achieved by actively rotating the halves against each other during sporty cornering.
engine
A newly developed four-liter V8 diesel engine with an output of 320 kW (435 hp) is used in the SQ7 . Charging is carried out by two turbochargers in combination with an electrically driven compressor, which is supplied via the 48-volt sub-board network. In addition, the valve control known as the Audi valvelift system (AVS) is used for the first time in an Audi diesel engine .
For autumn 2020, Audi announced the SQ7 with a 373 kW (507 PS) four-liter V8 petrol engine .
