Jorge Enríquez García (born January 8, 1991 in Mexicali , Baja California ), also known by the nickname Chatón , is a Mexican football player who is used either as a central defender or in the defensive midfield .

Chatón Enríquez, who was born in the northern Mexican border town of Mexicali, went through the junior division of the Club Deportivo Guadalajara , where he also received his first professional contract . He made his debut in the Mexican Primera División on February 17, 2010 when his team won 1-0 in Pachuca .

National team

Jorge Enríquez won with the Mexican U-20 national team the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship in 2011 and participated in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in part, in which Mexico was third.

In 2011, he also took part with Mexico as a visiting team at the 2011 Copa America in Argentina, where he made his first three international matches. Mexico was eliminated after the preliminary round.

In the summer of 2012 he took part with the Olympic team at the Olympic Games in London , where Mexico won the gold medal for the first time. He was used in all six games and scored 1-0 in the quarter-finals against Senegal (final score 4: 2 a.d.). In the final against Brazil he was one of the best players and "prevented their smooth game, kept an eye on the hurricane and pulled his team up." For Mexico this was the only gold medal in London.
