Orquesta Aragón is a Cuban music group specializing in Salsa , Cha-Cha-Cha , Charanga , Danzón , Pachanga and Son .

Career

The Orquesta Aragón was founded on September 30, 1939 by Orestes Aragón Cantero in Cienfuegos . The band was previously called Ritmica 39 and shortly thereafter Ritmica Aragón. They were considered the best charanga band in Cuba in the 1950s and 1960s. Their trademarks included high-class instrumentation and rhythmic innovations. Together with Beny Moré and Pérez Prado , they also shaped the mambo . In the 1950s, the danzón was more and more replaced by the cha-cha-cha in its popularity. Orquesta Aragón began his first tours in 1953 and was in Mexico in 1954 . Between 1955 and 1958, the Orquesta Aragón released four albums with the record company RCA Records . In total they had produced over a hundred music tracks, some of which such as "Macuto", "Por esta adoracion", "El trago", "Gallo y gallina" and "Cha Cha Cha navideño" were not released. After the death of Rafael Lay Apesteguía in 1982, Richard Egües took over the group. During the Cuban Revolution, Orquesta Aragón again toured abroad in over 30 countries. You still play in Havana to this day . Her greatest hits include titles such as “Los Tamalitos de Olga”, “La Cantina”, “Ritmo de Azúcar” and “El Bodeguero”.
