Joseph Berryer , Vizconde Berryer , Count Giuseppe Berryer (* 1897 in Liège ; † 1978 ) was a Belgian diplomat .

Life

Joseph Berryer was the son of Marie Géraldine Emilie Clémentine Dallemangne ​​and Paul Berryer . Joseph Berryer studied at a Jesuit college . In 1914 he was used as an officer in the Belgian Congo . He then studied political science . He entered the foreign service and was accredited in Vienna, Rome and Quirinal . From 1922 Joseph Berryer was embassy secretary in Tokyo , where he married the daughter of the Belgian ambassador Albert de Bassompierre.

From September 15, 1934 he was counselor in Madrid . On August 8, 1936, at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War , the Belgian ambassador Robert Everts went from Madrid to Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Berryer became chargé d'affaires in Madrid.
