Høve is a town in Odsherred Municipality on the west coast of the Danish island of Zealand . The village on Sejerø Bay is part of the Asnæs Sogn parish . At the beginning of 2010 there were 205 inhabitants in the village, in the following year it was again less than 200.
About one kilometer north of Høve is Høve Strand, further east is Høve Skov (forest). There is a campsite there. Asnæs is five kilometers south , Nykøbing Sjælland 17 km north-east and Holbæk 25 km south-east . The area lives heavily from tourism, there are numerous holiday homes along the coast.
Høve Friskole, founded in 1874, is a Grundtvig - Kold school with 130 students.
Attractions
Esterhøj ( 89 moh ), located between Høve and the village of Veddinge , is one of the most popular viewpoints in the region. At the top is the “Genforeningssten” to commemorate the reunification of North Schleswig with Denmark in 1920. There is also the burial mound of Ole Olsen , the founder of Nordisk Film , the oldest still existing film company in the world.
