The Sejerø Bay ( Danish : Sejerø Bugt ) is a bay belonging to the Kattegat in the north-west of the Odsherred peninsula on the Danish island of Zealand .

The northern shore of the bay is formed by the Sjællands Odde peninsula . The direct distance between the northern and southern points of the bay is about 15 kilometers, with the bay extending about 12 kilometers inland. To the west of the bay is the island of Sejerø , from which the name of the bay is derived.

In the southern part of the bay are the settlements Ordrup Strand , Skamlebæk Strand , Veddinge Strand and Høve Strand , in the northern part Lumsås , Overby and the ferry port Odden . The bay area belongs to the Odsherred municipality . There are several well-known beaches and extensive holiday home areas along the bay.

On September 6, 1982, the Peder-Skram missile incident occurred in the bay . On board the Danish frigate Peder Skram , a rocket was accidentally launched in the Kattegat, which hit a holiday home area near Lumsås after about 34 kilometers in the northeast of the bay, destroying four holiday homes and damaging a hundred without injuring people.
