Raiko Ivanov Daskalow ( Bulgarian Райко Иванов Даскалов ; born December 9, 1886 in Byala Cherkva , † August 26, 1923 in Prague ) was a Bulgarian politician and diplomat .

Life

Daskalow studied finance . In 1918 he took part in the Wladaja uprising and proclaimed the republic on September 27, 1918 in Radomir . After the uprising was put down, he fled to Greece . After receiving an amnesty in 1919 , he returned to Bulgaria. He was one of the leading personalities of the Bulgarian Peasant People's Union and from 1920 to 1923 was Minister of Finance of the Bulgarian government led by the Peasant People's Union. In May 1923 he became Bulgarian ambassador to Prague , where he was assassinated on August 26, 1923.
