Raimund Sternal

Raimund Sternal (* 1946 in Staßfurt ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman. From 2005 to 2016 he was vicar general in the diocese of Magdeburg .

Life

Sternal studied theology at the seminary in Erfurt . In 1972 he was ordained a priest in the diocese of Magdeburg by Bishop Johannes Braun . After he was vicar in Merseburg, he became a spiritual director at the Norbertuswerk and from 1981 to 1986 headed the youth pastoral care office of the then Episcopal Office in Magdeburg. He then headed the St. Gertrud parish pastoral seminar as rector for 14 years. In 2000 he became head of the pastoral department in the episcopal ordinariate. Since 2001, Raimund Sternal has also been the resident cathedral chapter .

In 2005 he was appointed Vicar General of the Diocese of Magdeburg by Bishop Gerhard Feige as the successor to Reinhold Pfafferodt. He retired on September 1, 2016. Bernhard Scholz was his successor as vicar general .
