Rainald II. (Bar)

Rainald II. († November 25, 1170 ) was a Count of Bar since 1149 and by marriage from 1155 Lord of Ligny .

He was a son of Count Rainald I and his wife, Gisela von Vaudémont.

Rainald took part with his father in the second crusade , on which the father died in 1149. He led feuds against the Duke of Lorraine and the Bishop of Metz . The latter he defeated in 1153 in a battle near Tircy. After an attack on the Abbey of Saint-Mihiel , Rainald was banned from church in 1152 , which he could only solve after donations to the church. He was buried in Saint-Mihiel after his death.

Rainald had been married to Agnes von Blois, a daughter of Count Theobald IV / II , since 1155 . from Blois-Champagne . Agnes brought the Ligny estate into the marriage as a dowry. Your children were:
